　　“有什么作用？”“很痛苦吗？”病人总是有不少疑惑。 　　支气管镜全称是纤维支气管镜（简称）。一般经鼻腔，或经口腔，或经管套管插入。具有外径细、可弯曲、亮度大、视野清晰等优点，已被广泛应用于临床。纤支镜不仅可直接观察气管、支气管病变的形态、部位和范围，而且可作活体组织和细胞学检查。对纵隔内气管和支气管旁淋巴结及黏膜下病变也可以通过针吸明确诊断。此外，还可以通过纤支镜局部注药、热疗、高频电刀等治疗气管和支。　　当出现以下情况时，需要考虑做：　　刺激性咳嗽 &呼吸道疾病都能引起咳嗽，病因和病变不同，咳嗽的性质也完全不同。为了明确咳嗽原因，特别是是否为肿瘤阻塞或压迫所引起，应及时进行纤支镜检查。　　和呼吸困难 &出现血痰伴有干咳、呼吸困难和喘鸣者，要考虑气管肿瘤，应及时进行纤支镜检查。纤支镜不仅可明确咯血原因，而且可了解咯血的部位。　　 &当X线正、侧位胸片或CT检查呈现肺叶或全肺不张时，为了明确病因，应及时进行纤支镜检查。　　痰癌细胞阳性 &当痰内查到癌细胞，而胸部X线检查未见明显异常时，其病变定位主要依靠纤支镜检查。　　纵隔增宽和肺部块影 &胸部X线发现纵隔增宽和肺部块影的患者，通过纤支镜可以了解其气管、支气管黏膜是否正常，有否外压和隆起，管腔内有否肿物，通过活检和针吸等方法取得病理和细胞学诊断。
　　肺部手术前常规检查 &可明确病变部位及范围，气管、支气管黏膜情况，有无淋巴结转移，气管、支气管有无受压和累及，以便决定手术方式。　　观察治疗效果 &在肺部肿瘤放射治疗及化学治疗中，应用纤支镜检查有助于直接观察疗效。外科手术后的纤支镜检查，可以了解肿瘤切除是否彻底和残端愈合情况。　　还可用于治疗，如激光和高频电刀治疗气管、支气管肿瘤等。
